Yes, blogging works! I was Ralph’s 2004 campaign filmmaker, and am the author of the forthcoming book, WHAT WAS RALPH NADER THINKING? about my adventures with Ralph on the campaign trail.
I am based in Berkeley, California, and am looking forward to seeing UNREASONABLE MAN. When I heard that “Alice” from THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE was making a film about Ralph, I thought, “I HAVE to see this movie!”
Ralph will be in the Bay Area Feb 15 & 16th to promote his new book “The Seventeen Traditions.”
By the way, the downloadable flyers for Berkeley have the wrong release date on them. Let me know how I can help promote your film. Best, Rommel
I’m very excited to see this film… Is there any plans for a canadian distribution?
It really pisses me off when people say that nader cost Gore the election - the simple fact is your two political parties are practically the same and you will never have a third choice if people bash people like Ralph Nader when he runs.
here in Canada we have Three political parties and it’s what makes out democracy so good, If it weren’t for the NDP (party) here in canada we would have the same problems as you, but just like the green party in the US it took time for the NDP to develope into what it it now.
Peace,
Brian W. Lockyer
I am excited to see the film, as a teacher of civics to high school students I keep my personal opinion out of the class and just present the facts, but that won’t stop me offering extra credit to my students if they catch your film.
Keep an eye open, I am running for president too…

So far I only have bumper stickers, but hey… it’s a start.
Thanks for the effort in educating people about the efforts of one man.

Hi! I thought the New York Times and Burlington Free Press interviews were great. When are ya gonna be on Letterman? C’mon he’s SUCH a Nader fan. I already e-mailed the show (so of course you’ll get the call any day now).
Can’t wait to see the film, of course, like everyone else. Thank god it’s coming to Madison now! I was a teensy bit worried. Sure I would have gone down to Chicago just to see it, but it would have been disturbing if that were necessary. Hope we get some downloadable flyers film here. The other local ‘04 campaigners and I could have a flyering/postering reunion.
By the way — thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for this film!
Ralph Nader is one of my three white male heros. As a student I was an activist in Minnesota Public Interest Research Group — one of the first PIRG’s founded by Nader in the 1970’s. He relentlessly stood up for what was right. I was mildly conflicted by his run for presidency, but even more disappointed by liberals and progressives need to scapegoat someone for the election’s outcome.
Nader speaks of setting yardsticks by which to measure ourselves and society. One of those yardsticks is public discourse. I am excited to see this movie. I think it will promote lively discussion. Whatever one thinks of Nader, it is good to be reminded that one person can make a big difference and collective action can make a big difference.
I saw the movie tonight in Boston. Thanks for making this movie. It is so important for the truth of what happened to Ralph during the last two elections be told–the media manipulation, the strong-arming, the censureship. I was very involved in Boston with his campaign. I remember how the two parties locked him out of the debate, how the media refused to acknowledge his rallies–and how unjust that was. The way the movie is put together, you see and hear what led up to those events, you are let in on all the the connecting pieces of information that the media never bothered to investigate or cover. I really understand a lot more about Ralph and his presidential runs. And I definately feel more convinced than ever that Ralph was right to run and I was right to vote for him. Awesome, awesome film! Everyone in the theator applauded at the end! Well–except for those two Democrats who looked like they were going to be sick. You can’t keep a good man down–that’s how the truth eventially comes out! Great Job!
I have posted some photos on my website of the L.A. premiere Feb 9 and 10th. Many shows sold out, and the audience reaction was great.

how many Q&A sessions were there? Is there a transcript or better yet a video you can post on youtube?
Here is a little 50-second movie I made of the L.A. Premiere:

I voted for this movie in the Nation poll for Oscar on the best documentary. Here’s what I said in the blog -
The reason I voted for An Unreasonable Man is that it is well done showing the pros and cons of Nader as articulated by friend and foe. But most of all, Nader and his actions reveals the stark contrast on many levels between our current culture and one that I believe we should have in the US. This movie is not a slam dunk as An Inconvenient Truth and the others listed in the poll. This movie forces one to consider the pros and cons not just of Nader personally, but of what he stands for both in the 60’s and 70’s and also his running for President and the opposition to that by the conventional politics and culture.
